This Award recognises businesses/organisations that have demonstrated a commitment to the building of a sustainable business in China, to advancing environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles, and to helping promote the benefits of a sustainable business model in the Chinese market. The Award is open to British organisations in any industry sector.

Judges will be looking for evidence of:
- A clearly identified vision and set of values, a successfully embedded, sustainable business strategy, and ESG practices across operations in China.
- Significant efforts to reduce any negative environmental impact from operations.
- Provision to the Chinese market of products or services that support the development of other sustainable businesses and the growth of the broader economy.
- A business that not only seeks to deliver improved shareholder performance but also promotes economic prosperity, improved environmental quality and social equity.
- A commitment to the development and maintenance of socially responsible co-operation throughout their value chain by working with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders, as well as educating employees, customers and the wider community on the importance of sustainability.
- Ensuring ethical operations and conformance to business conduct supported by a sound corporate governance structure and systems, including transparency, accountability, and ethical decision-making.
