The British SME of the Year Award recognises small and medium-sized British organisations operating in China that demonstrate exceptional business performance, innovation and sustainable growth. The award celebrates SMEs whose entrepreneurial spirit, agility and ambition make a significant contribution to the commercial relationship between the United Kingdom and China.
*For this category, an SME is considered a company with fewer than 250 employees worldwide. Should an entrant’s status as an SME be in dispute, the final decision regarding eligibility would be made by the judging panel of this award.
Judges will look for evidence of:
- A clear business strategy, strong organisational performance and sustainable growth in China.
- Innovation in products, services, business models or operations that delivers measurable impact.
- Excellence in leadership, organisational culture and entrepreneurial vision.
- A positive contribution to the UK–China commercial relationship through business, collaboration or industry leadership.
- Demonstrable impact on customers, employees, partners or the wider business community.
